5 STEPS TO MASTER YOUR MARTINI
#1
Choose your base spirit, vodka or gin?
The original Martini was made with gin, but today, vodka is just as iconic. So, what’s your style?
Purity Vodka delivers unmatched true smoothness, allowing delicate nuances to shine.
Purity Gin adds depth with layers of Nordic botanicals.
Both are flawless choices—just make sure it's Purity—because you’re worth it.
#2
Choose your aromatized wine
The first Martinis were made with sweet vermouth, but today, dry vermouth is the go-to. That said, rules are meant to be played with:
Dry vermouth – crisp, clean, and timeless.
Sweet vermouth – a richer, fuller-bodied take.
Blanc or fino sherry – a refined twist for those in the know.
Your Martini’s backbone should complement, not overpower.
#3
Choose your ratio
This is where your Martini’s character is defined. Do you want spirit-forward boldness or a whisper of balance? Choose wisely:
1:1 – Fifty Fifty – Equal parts of Sprit and Vermouth.
1:5 – Upside Down (Julia Child’s variant) – A more vermouth-forward, sophisticated sip.
2:1 – Proposition Style – The ratio of the first Martini served in the White House after Prohibition was lifted.
15:1 – Montgomery Style – The legend goes that British Field Marshal Montgomery wouldn’t go into battle unless he outnumbered his enemy 15:1.
100:1 – Master Blender Mathias’ Favorite – Just a swirl of vermouth in the glass.
1:0 – Churchill Style – No vermouth. Simply have the bottle in the room or bow toward France in respect.
#4
Choose your chill and dilution
How you serve your Martini is just as important as what’s in it. Three paths to perfection:
Stirred – Silkier texture, controlled dilution.
Shaken – Aerated, icy, with a crisp edge.
Direct (Freezer Cold) – No dilution, just the purest expression of the spirit. Keep both your bottle and glass ice-cold for the ultimate sip.
#5
Choose your garnish
The final flourish. It’s not just about looks - it’s about taste, aroma, and character.
Lemon twist – Bright and zesty.
Olives – Classic, with a briny depth.
Pickled onion – A bold Gibson-style statement.
Orange oil – A modern aromatic upgrade.
Your garnish is the finishing touch that makes it yours.
