Crafted with heart. Guided by purpose. Meet Master Blender Mathias Tonnesson
Every bottle of Purity begins long before the first sip. It begins with intent. With a constant pursuit of balance, character and a smoothness you can genuinely feel.
As Master Blender, I am not here to follow trends or chase expectations. My role is to understand what each spirit can become at its best and how the smallest decisions can transform what you experience in the glass.
For me, craftsmanship is about respect. Respect for the ingredients. For time. For copper. For the process. And for knowing when to push further and when everything is finally in balance.
That is where Purity begins.
If the base is not complete, nothing built on it ever will be.
Everything starts with the spirit itself. Not simply clean, but balanced. Expressive. Alive.
Our vodka is the foundation for everything we create. The same philosophy of smoothness, character and precision carries through the entire Purity collection from vodka to gin.
Because before you add botanicals, citrus or anything else, the spirit underneath has to feel right.
True Smoothness is not about chasing a number. It is about what happens along the way.
At the heart of Purity is our signature heart spirit, created through extended copper surface contact.
For Signature 34, the heart is exposed to copper across 34 levels for 12 hours. For Connoisseur 51 Reserve, that journey extends to 51 levels and 20 hours.
The purpose is not the number itself. It is the time, the copper contact and the precision behind the process that help shape the character and smoothness we are looking for.
And ultimately, none of that matters unless you can feel the difference in the glass.
That is our pursuit of True Smoothness.
You can taste integrity when it is real.
We work with carefully selected grains and botanicals because what goes into the spirit influences what eventually comes out of it.
The quality of the grain matters. The way it is handled matters. The water matters. Every detail contributes to the final balance.
When those ingredients meet time, copper and careful blending, the result should feel natural, expressive and complete.
If my name is on it, it has to be right.
My signature is on every bottle for one reason: accountability.
Blending is not simply following a formula. It is tasting, adjusting and making decisions until every element feels exactly where it should be.
There is no shortcut for judgment. No machine can decide when a spirit has the right texture, balance or character.
When I sign a bottle, it means I believe the spirit is ready to carry the Purity name.
The smallest adjustments create the biggest difference.
Much of blending happens in details most people will never see.
Small changes. Tiny adjustments.
Tasting. Comparing. Refining. Repeating.
That is where a spirit moves from technically correct to something that actually creates a feeling.
Texture becomes softer. Character becomes clearer. Balance begins to feel effortless.
And sometimes, the smallest adjustment is the difference between a good spirit and the one that makes you smile.
Recognition matters, but experience is everything.
Purity has received recognition around the world, and I am proud of every award.
But awards are not why we create the spirit.
The real test happens when someone tastes it.
The pause after the first sip. The surprise when the smoothness is more complete than expected. The second taste that follows without thinking.
And then, sometimes, a smile.
Because in the end, what matters most is not what we say about Purity.
It is what you feel.
The Smile Says Everything.
True Smoothness doesn’t ask for a reaction. It receives one.
