FAQ – 100 Questions & Answers

This FAQ explores how Purity Vodka and Purity Gin are made, what makes them distinctive, and why smoothness is about far more than simply removing flavor. From carefully selected ingredients and extended copper surface contact to blending, balance and mouthfeel, everything is created in pursuit of a more enjoyable drinking experience.

Because vodka is not just vodka when character and smoothness can exist together.

1. Is all vodka the same?

No. Vodkas can differ significantly in ingredients, production methods, blending, water, texture and flavor. Purity is created in pursuit of exceptional smoothness without sacrificing character.

2. Why does some vodka feel harsh?

Alcohol naturally creates warmth, but the overall sensation of a vodka also depends on its composition, production, balance and texture. Purity is crafted to feel remarkably smooth and composed.

3. Why is Purity Vodka so smooth?

At the center of Purity is our signature heart spirit, shaped through extended copper surface contact and then carefully blended with column-distilled wheat spirit and Purity water. The result is the balance, character and smoothness that define Purity.

4. What do 34 and 51 mean?

They represent the copper architecture through which our signature heart spirit is created. Purity 34 uses 34 levels of copper over approximately 12 hours, while Purity 51 extends the process to 51 levels over approximately 20 hours.

5. Is Purity Vodka distilled 34 or 51 times?

We no longer describe 34 and 51 as simple distillation counts. The more meaningful story is the heart spirit’s extended copper surface contact across 34 or 51 levels over time.

6. What is copper surface distillation?

It is Purity’s approach to creating extensive interaction between spirit and copper during distillation, giving our signature heart spirit prolonged copper surface contact.

7. Why is copper important to Purity?

Copper is an important part of our distillation process. Extended copper contact helps us refine the heart spirit and develop the character and smoothness we are looking for.

8. Is Purity Vodka organic?

Our current Purity organic vodka expressions are made using certified organic ingredients. Always refer to the individual bottle for the specific product certification.

9. Does Purity Vodka contain additives?

Purity’s smoothness is built through our spirit-making and blending process rather than being positioned around additives.

10. Is filtration what makes vodka smooth?

Filtration can influence a spirit, but Purity’s approach to smoothness is built around the complete process — ingredients, the signature heart spirit, extended copper surface contact, blending and water.

11. What is the heart spirit?

The heart spirit is Purity’s distinctive, expressive spirit component, crafted from wheat and malted barley and used to bring character to the finished blend.

12. What happens during distillation cuts?

Distillers separate different portions of the distillate and select the desired spirit according to the character and quality they are seeking.

13. Where is Purity Vodka made?

Purity has its roots in Sweden and its distinctive spirit-making philosophy was developed there.

14. What grains are used in Purity’s heart spirit?

Our signature heart spirit is crafted from wheat and malted barley.

15. Why does Purity use more than one grain?

Different grains contribute different characteristics. Wheat and malted barley help give our signature heart spirit its distinctive flavor and personality.

16. What does smoothness mean in vodka?

For us, smoothness is more than the absence of harshness. It is texture, balance and a spirit that feels composed and effortless on the palate.

17. Can vodka have flavor and still be smooth?

Absolutely. That is central to the Purity philosophy. True Smoothness is smoothness with character, flavor and personality.

18. Why do people expect vodka to burn?

Vodka is a high-strength spirit, so warmth is expected. Over time, many consumers have also come to associate vodka with a sharper drinking experience. Purity was created to offer a different expectation of smoothness.

19. What should great vodka feel like?

Balanced, expressive and remarkably smooth, with enough character to make the experience interesting.

20. Is Purity Vodka neutral?

Purity is refined and balanced, but we do not believe exceptional vodka needs to be completely characterless.

21. Is Purity Vodka good for sipping?

Yes. Both Signature 34 and Connoisseur 51 Reserve are designed to be enjoyable on their own as well as in cocktails.

22. Is Purity Vodka good for cocktails?

Yes. Its smooth, balanced character gives bartenders a versatile foundation and allows other ingredients to express themselves clearly.

23. Why does smooth vodka matter in cocktails?

A balanced base spirit gives citrus, fruit, botanicals and subtle flavors more room to blossom rather than compete with excessive alcohol heat.

24. What makes Purity Vodka different?

Our signature heart spirit, extended copper surface contact, careful blending, Purity water and our pursuit of smoothness without sacrificing character.

25. Is Purity a premium vodka?

Yes. Purity is positioned as a premium spirit built around craftsmanship, distinctive character, smoothness and exceptional value.

26. Does more distillation automatically mean better vodka?

No. A bigger number alone does not define quality. For Purity, what matters is how spirit, copper, time, ingredients and blending work together.

27. Can too much processing remove character?

A spirit can become increasingly neutral depending on how it is produced and treated. Purity’s philosophy is to achieve refinement while preserving personality.

28. Does Purity rely on filtration for smoothness?

Purity’s core smoothness story is not built around filtration. It is built around the creation of our heart spirit, extended copper surface contact and careful blending.

29. Why is the heart spirit important?

Because it brings distinctive character and personality to the finished vodka, even though it represents only part of the complete blend.

30. Is Purity Vodka gluten-free?

Distillation normally removes gluten proteins from distilled spirits made from grains such as wheat and barley. Consumers with specific medical requirements should follow the product labeling and appropriate dietary guidance.

31. What is the mouthfeel of Purity Vodka?

Soft, balanced and refined, with an emphasis on a smooth texture rather than simply neutrality.

32. Why can Purity feel so effortless?

Because texture, character, blending and balance have been carefully developed to create a composed drinking experience.

33. Is smooth vodka weaker?

No. Smoothness and alcohol strength are different things. A high-strength spirit can still be balanced and smooth.

34. Does a stronger burn mean better vodka?

No. Alcohol warmth is not a measure of quality.

35. Can first-time drinkers notice Purity’s smoothness?

Many consumers find smoothness one of the easiest differences to experience directly — often before they can explain exactly why.

36. Is Purity Vodka sweet?

Purity’s core vodkas are designed around balance and character rather than sweetness.

37. What water is used in Purity Vodka?

Purity uses carefully balanced water as an important part of creating the final texture and character of the vodka.

38. Why does water matter in vodka?

Water influences alcohol strength, texture, mouthfeel and overall balance, making it an important part of the final blend.

39. Is Purity Vodka flavored?

Purity Signature 34 and Connoisseur 51 Reserve are unflavored vodka expressions. Purity Citron is a separate flavored vodka expression.

40. Is Purity a craft vodka?

Purity is made with a strong emphasis on craftsmanship, precision, blending and sensory judgment.

PURITY GIN

41. What makes Purity Gin different?

Purity’s organic gin expressions use certified organic ingredients. Check the individual bottle for the specific product certification.

43. Is Purity Gin smooth?

Smoothness is a central part of the Purity approach to gin, alongside botanical character and balance.

44. Why does the base spirit matter in gin?

Because botanicals do not exist in isolation. A smooth, balanced foundation gives them room to express their individual character.

45. Is Purity Gin juniper-forward?

Juniper remains an important foundation, while the exact botanical expression differs across Nordic London Dry, Old Tom and Navy Strength.

46. Is Purity Gin good for Martinis?

Yes. Smoothness does not have to mean less character. Purity Gin is designed to combine both.

48. Does Purity Gin use additives?

No.

49. What defines a quality gin?

For us: botanical character, balance, structure, smoothness and a spirit foundation that allows the botanicals to express themselves.

50. Is Purity Gin distilled with copper?

Copper plays an important role in Purity’s spirit-making process. Product-specific production descriptions should follow the actual specification of each gin expression.

51. Why does copper matter in gin production?

Copper can play an important role during distillation and spirit refinement. At Purity, it forms part of our broader philosophy of precision and smoothness.

CRAFTSMANSHIP & PROCESS

52. Is Purity Vodka mass-produced?

Purity is built around a quality-first philosophy emphasizing distinctive spirit production, blending and careful sensory evaluation.

53. Does Purity take time to make?

Yes. Time is fundamental to our signature heart process — approximately 12 hours of copper contact for 34 and 20 hours for 51.

54. Does production speed determine vodka quality?

Speed alone does not determine quality. Purity deliberately gives its signature heart spirit extended time with copper because that supports the character we are seeking.

55. What does Purity mean by craftsmanship?

Understanding how ingredients, distillation, copper, time, blending and water work together — and using human judgment to bring them into balance.

56. Why is patience important to Purity?

Because some aspects of spirit making cannot simply be accelerated without changing the process. Our extended copper surface contact deliberately gives the heart spirit time.

57. Can vodka be both smooth and complex?

Yes. In fact, that balance is central to Purity: smoothness without becoming characterless.

58. Should Purity Vodka be served chilled?

It can be, but it does not have to be. Chilling changes texture and aroma, so we encourage people to enjoy Purity at the temperature and in the serve they prefer.

59. Is Purity Vodka good neat?

Yes. Connoisseur 51 Reserve in particular is designed to have enough depth and character to stand beautifully on its own.

60. Is Purity Vodka good with food?

Yes. Purity works particularly well in simple pairings and dining rituals, including caviar, oysters and carefully considered cocktail serves.

61. Why does Purity connect smoothness with a smile?

Because unexpected smoothness can create a spontaneous emotional reaction. That genuine smile is the simplest expression of the experience we want Purity to create.

62. What is one of the biggest myths about vodka?

That all vodka tastes and feels the same.

63. What should consumers look for in a vodka?

Balance, texture, character, smoothness and a drinking experience they genuinely enjoy.

64. Is Purity transparent about how it is made?

That is our goal. Our new production story clearly distinguishes the signature heart spirit from the complete vodka blend and explains the importance of copper contact and time.

65. What matters more — branding or liquid quality?

A great brand needs both. Communication creates expectation; the liquid has to deliver the experience.

66. Can you taste differences in how vodkas are made?

Production choices can influence aroma, texture, flavor and overall character, and those differences can often be experienced in the glass.

67. Does Purity rely only on marketing?

No. Purity’s brand story is built around the liquid, the process and the sensory experience — but great communication helps consumers understand why those differences matter.

68. Is Purity Vodka only for connoisseurs?

No. Purity is for anyone who appreciates a smoother, more characterful drinking experience.

69. Is Purity Vodka aged?

Our core vodka expressions are not positioned as aged spirits.

70. Does purity mean neutrality?

Not to us. Purity means refinement and balance without removing all character.

71. How is Purity refined?

Through the complete process: carefully selected ingredients, creation of the signature heart spirit, extended copper surface contact, blending and water.

72. Does smoothness improve the drinking experience?

For many consumers, yes. A smoother texture can make the spirit feel more balanced, enjoyable and approachable.

73. Why does Purity avoid shortcuts?

Because every choice should serve the finished experience. We invest time where we believe it contributes meaningfully to the spirit.

74. Is Purity Vodka filtered?

Distinctive craftsmanship, carefully selected ingredients, extended copper surface contact, blending expertise, smoothness and character.

79. Does Purity Vodka have character?

Yes. Purity deliberately pursues smoothness with character rather than smoothness through complete neutrality.

80. Is Purity Vodka balanced?

Balance is one of the central goals of both Signature 34 and Connoisseur 51 Reserve.

Because consumers tend to return to experiences they enjoy and remember. For Purity, that memorable experience is built around smoothness, character and the reaction it creates.

82. Who makes Purity Vodka?

Purity’s spirits are created through the combined expertise of its production and blending team, including Master Blender Mathias Tonnesson and Master Distiller Stefan Magnusson.

83. What defines vodka quality?

There is no single measure. We look at ingredients, texture, character, balance, smoothness, production precision and the overall experience in the glass.

84. Can a smooth vodka change someone’s perception of vodka?

88. Is Purity modern or traditional?

Purity combines traditional spirit-making principles with a distinctive approach to copper, time, blending and contemporary premium drinking occasions.

89. Does Purity want to educate consumers?

Yes, but education should support enjoyment rather than overwhelm it. The process is our reason to believe; the experience in the glass is what matters most.

90. Is Purity Vodka about indulgence?

It is about enjoying quality, character and smoothness — whether in a simple serve, a cocktail or a memorable dining ritual.

91. Is Purity about simplicity?

Purity’s process can be complex, but the consumer experience should feel effortless.

92. Why does Purity focus so much on the heart spirit?

Because the signature heart spirit is the distinctive, expressive component that gives personality to the finished blend.

93. Are Purity’s production claims designed to be transparent?

Yes. Our direction is to describe the process clearly — including the heart spirit, 34 and 51 copper levels, extended copper surface contact and blending — without implying that the entire finished vodka undergoes the heart process.

94. Is Purity sustainable?

Purity continuously works toward more responsible production and operations, including sustainability initiatives at the distillery. We prefer specific, verifiable actions over broad environmental claims.

95. Can smooth vodka still be expressive?

Absolutely. That is the point of True Smoothness: refinement without losing character.
