Copper surface contact

The craftsmanship behind True Smoothness.

Copper

Why copper matters

At the heart of Purity is a distinctive copper distillation system in southern Sweden, designed to give our signature heart spirit extended contact with copper throughout the distillation process.

Copper plays an important role in refining the spirit, helping shape its flavor, texture and overall balance.

While copper is commonly used in distillation, Purity’s approach is distinguished by the extensive interaction between the spirit and copper surfaces across multiple levels of our still.

Copper, time and patience

Our process is not about distilling a spirit as many times as possible. It is about allowing meaningful contact with copper over an extended period. Each vodka follows its own journey:

Purity Vodka 34 Signature Edition Organic

34 levels of copper, with approximately 12 hours of extended copper surface contact. Created for balance, gentle flavor and versatility.

Purity Vodka 51 Connoisseur Reserve Organic

51 levels of copper, with approximately 20 hours of extended copper surface contact. Developed for a richer tasting experience, with greater complexity and a beautifully composed finish.

The numbers refer to the copper architecture of our distillation system, not the number of separate distillations. The numbers are not the destination. They represent the journey.

From heart spirit to finished vodka

The process begins with our signature heart spirit, crafted from organic winter wheat and malted barley.

Following distillation, the heart spirit is carefully blended with column-distilled wheat spirit and Purity water.

Each component has a purpose. The heart spirit contributes distinctive flavor, the wheat spirit brings balance, and the water helps bring the final expression together.

Crafted for the experience

Every step is guided by the same ambition: to create a spirit that is enjoyable from the first sip.

Copper contact is an important part of how we achieve our distinctive style, but the process is only meaningful because of what it brings to the glass. That is the pursuit of True Smoothness.

True Smoothness doesn’t ask for a reaction. It receives one.Mathias Tönnesson, Master Blender
