2 oz / 6 cl Purity Vodka 51 Connoisseur Reserve Organic
1/2 oz / 1.5 cl dry vermouth
3 dashes orange bitters
The vodka martini found its moment in the 1950s, when vodka arrived in American bars and drinkers discovered how clean and elegant a martini could be without gin. A few dashes of orange bitters, a favorite of early martini recipes, give it warmth and a soft golden glow.
With only three ingredients, everything rests on the vodka. Vodka 51 Connoisseur Reserve brings a soft, rounded texture and a long, quiet finish, so the vermouth and bitters frame it rather than mask it. Smooth, bold and beautifully simple.
Gold in the glass. Silk on the palate.
Chill a coupe glass in the freezer.
Add Vodka 51 Connoisseur Reserve, dry vermouth and orange bitters to a mixing glass.
Fill with ice and stir for about 20 seconds, until ice-cold.
Strain into the chilled coupe. If you like, express a strip of orange peel over the surface for a brighter aroma.
Keep the vodka in the freezer and stir for no more than twenty seconds: it is already cold, so you only need a little dilution. Count the bitters exactly. Three dashes give warmth; a fourth starts to take over.
