In Sweden, Midsummer is the brightest night of the year. Around the solstice, people gather outdoors, wear crowns of wildflowers and celebrate a sun that barely sets. Elderflower blooms along the roadsides at exactly the same time.

The Midsummer Martini puts that feeling in a glass. Floral elderflower and fresh lemon meet Vodka 51 Connoisseur Reserve, whose soft, rounded texture keeps the drink bright without any sharpness. Light, fragrant and clean on the finish.

Endless daylight, shaken cold.

How to make it

Chill a martini glass in the freezer.

Add Vodka 51 Connoisseur Reserve, elderflower liqueur, fresh lemon juice and simple syrup to a cocktail shaker.

Fill with ice and shake for 12 to 15 seconds, until well chilled.

Fine-strain into the chilled glass and garnish with an edible flower or a lemon twist.

From the Master Blender

Taste your lemons before you start. Early-summer lemons can be sharper, so adjust the simple syrup by a few drops until the balance feels right. And chill the glass properly: a floral martini is at its best ice-cold.
