The Lemon Drop is said to have been born in San Francisco in the 1970s, inspired by the sweet-and-sour candy of the same name. It has been a favorite ever since: bright, playful and finished with a sparkling sugar rim.

Purity Citron 34 makes it shine. Natural lemon flavor on the smooth foundation of Purity 34 means the drink tastes of real, sun-ripe lemons, with a clean finish that keeps every sip light.

A little sweet, a little tart. Entirely delightful.

How to make it

Run a lemon wedge around the outer rim of a Martini glass and dip it in granulated sugar.

Add Citron 34, lemon juice and simple syrup to a shaker.

Fill with ice and shake for about 12 seconds, until well chilled.

Strain carefully into the sugared glass and garnish with a lemon wedge.

From the Master Blender

Sugar only the outside of the rim. That way the sweetness comes and goes with each sip instead of falling into the drink, and the balance stays exactly where you want it.
